What your kids should wear to your photo session
Now that you’ve decided on your outfit, it’s time to work on outfits for your children. This should come easier as you’re basically just coordinating their outfits with yours. They look adorable in anything you put on them, so body shape isn’t an issue at this age (Praise the Lord!). Now is the time to bring out that adorable outfit you bought for Easter or Christmas or buy that cute little dress or vest. More details below.
As you’re coordinating your outfit with your family, keep in mind that your outfits will look the most cohesive on camera when the color palette and wardrobe pieces coordinate, but don’t actually “match.” Even break up the colors so you’re not wearing the same colors on top and bottom. Remember to stick to the softer, lighter tones and avoid the ultra-bright, bold colors.
Mix it up
If you have multiple children, don’t feel like you have to put them all in the same type of outfit. Let their personalities shine a little through what they wear. But also keep in mind to dress it up. Dresses, skirts and tops, dress pants/shorts, vests, little fedoras, are all great ideas.
Be sure to include water, snacks, small toys for the little ones to stay engaged. And for the younger ones, be sure they’ve had their nap! Don’t force it, but be sure everyone is well rested to make this a great session! And remember to have fun, but have grace. The session won’t go perfect. Someone will cry or run around like a crazy chicken, but it’s okay. We’ll make sure to capture you perfectly!
We can’t wait to see you and capture fun images of you. The best thing you can bring is your smile and confidence!! And remember, that you are wonderful just as you are!
