Have you escaped from a locked room? I mean, who doesn’t love a good puzzle to solve with your friends? If you haven’t tried an escape room, you should definitely check it out! Escape Room 5280 in Highland Village, Texas is a great place to start. This location is run by a local resident who has a heart for building up families and young lives in the community. We’re super excited to start this blog series spotlighting local businesses and their stories. There are thousands of stories waiting to be told in our great metropolis and we can’t wait to share some of them with you.

JD spent sixteen years hunting for clues and solving mysteries as a police detective. Now he’s enjoying his retirement by helping others do the same through his live escape games at Room 5280. These escape rooms put you into a Victorian style house to puzzle your way out of. It’s a fantastic event space. You pay for your party or team to solve a room together and then you get to use the event space at no extra cost.

His career began as a marine stationed in Florida and Japan. JD then moved to Highland Village to be a Police Detective where he and his wife raised two fantastic kids. After retiring JD found himself playing escape rooms as a way to scratch his itch for solving a case. Through this, he found a way to combine his love of escape rooms with his desire to run his own business and give back to the community. He chose to open up shop in the middle of Highland Village as a way to give kids and families a fun bonding experience near home.
The current rooms are The Experiment, The Heist, and Sherlock.
