Have you ever started something new and wondered what people would think? Well, we are right there with you as we launch our new website and subsequently, re-launch our business!!! We are a bit nervous but very excited to develop new relationships and capture timeless images.
After an intense year of restructuring and laying all the foundational pieces, we are thrilled to be here, a husband and wife team, Aaron and Marla Althaus together, as Althaus Photography. Our focus and passion is wedding photography but we still love doing portraits and senior photography sessions.
Our business began as a hobby. We both loved taking pictures and documenting our lives, but one day, Aaron was gifted a really nice camera and our lives have never been the same. He began shooting portrait and headshot sessions of friends, family, people on the street and yes, even our cat! She’s more cooperative at being a subject than I am!
About a year ago, we both realized that with some hard work and commitment, we could make this our full-time gig and work together! So, we sat down and began formulating a plan. One of the first steps we took was to take the Shooting and Editing Course by Amy and Jordan Demos. I thought Aaron’s photography skills were great before, but now they’re even better (see below)! Amy and Jordan are fun, sweet, and full of wisdom! We truly enjoyed their class.
Since we had so much success with Amy and Jordan’s class, I took their business course next. It was phenomenal! I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to run a photography business. I now feel confident about where we are heading instead of something like the blind leading the blind!
So, here we go, nerves and excitement as we launch our business forward, working and waiting for the clients to come! We feel like our business is taking flight again and can’t wait to meet new people and serve them through our photography. Please check out our new site and let us know what you think in the comments below!
Finding the joy in life!

Congratulations to both of you on the launch! Things are going to start moving now that Marla has her freedom! Keep working and Aaron will be full time in no time!
